by RussFactorShow · Utility · v0.5.0

A mod for Forza Horizon 2 (Azimuth builds) that puts your own local music on all 7 radio stations: Horizon XS, Horizon Pulse, Bass Arena, Radio Levante, Hospital Records, Ninja Tune and Innovative Leisure. Each station has its own songs folder and its own logo, and plays shuffled. Flip stations and each one pauses, then carries on from the same spot when you come back. Not affiliated with Microsoft.
[!CAUTION]
IMPORTANT: Go into the game's In-Game Audio Settings and TURN OFF the DJ Voice.
[!WARNING]
Only one radio mod at a time. HorizonRadioNetwork can't be installed alongside our other radio mods, FH2 Spotify Radio and FH2 YouTube Radio. Remove or disable them in that build first.
You'll need the latest version of Extra Options with its mod loader installed.
1. Remove or disable any other radio mod in that build.
2. From [Releases](../../releases/latest), download the zip.
HorizonRadioNetwork-ExtraOptionsEdition3. Drag the whole HorizonRadioNetwork folder into your build's mods folder, so you have mods\HorizonRadioNetwork\mod.json.
4. Put your songs in the station folders in mods\HorizonRadioNetwork\RADIO\ and turn those stations on in config.ini (see below).
5. Launch the game, go into the in-game Audio Settings and TURN OFF the DJ Voice.
6. Switch the radio to Horizon XS (or any station you turned on).
RADIO\ has a folder for every station: XS, Pulse, BassArena, Levante, Hospital, NinjaTune, InnovativeLeisure. MP3, FLAC, OGG, WAV, and M4A files all work, and subfolders are fine. A station folder with no songs plays nothing, and its now-playing text says where to add songs.
config.ini has one section per station:
ini
[Horizon XS]
enabled = YES
folder = XS•enabled = YES: your music plays on this station. enabled = NO: the game's normal music plays there.
•folder =: the folder inside RADIO\ with that station's songs. To use your own name, rename the folder in RADIO\ AND set folder = to the exact same name. If they don't match, the station won't find your songs (the log says folder RADIO\<name> not found ...).
•Only Horizon XS is enabled out of the box. Turn on the others for the stations you add music to.
•Older config.ini files ([station switches] YES/NO lines, stations = Name:number) still work.
Put logo.png or logo.jpg in the station's RADIO\<Station>\Station LOGOpng folder. 2:1 looks best (fitted to 196x96). A logo next to the songs is NOT used. No logo means the station shows its built-in HorizonRadioNetwork logo (all 7 stations have one). Set replace_logo = false to keep the game's own logos on every station.
Drop one or more songs in RADIO\TITLE SCREEN\. Each launch picks one at random (not the same one twice in a row) and plays it instead of the game's start screen music. Empty folder = the game's own start screen music. custom_start_screen_music = 0 turns it off, and title_screen_source = 2 picks from all your station folders instead.
Edit config.ini while the game is closed (delete it to get the defaults back). local_boost_db (0 to 12, default 6) adds volume to your music. show_track_info = true shows song title and artist as the now-playing text. By default the music pauses when you leave the station or hit a menu and resumes where it left off; pause_when_silent = false is live-radio behavior (experimental, not recommended). Each race starts with a fresh song when you press Start Race; set race_start_skip = false to keep the song you had. your_station_in_showcases = true (default) keeps you on your station in Showcase events. online_lobby_hold = true keeps your music paused in online pre-race lobbies (up to 35 seconds; off by default). extended_fonts = full borrows letters (Greek, Cyrillic, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, rarer accents) from the game's other fonts.
Hold LB + X to skip to the next song on the station you're on. Change the buttons with skip_combo in config.ini (for example Back+RB or LB+RB+Y), or set skip_combo = off.
•None known right now.
•Check mods\HorizonRadioNetwork\system\horizon-radio-network.log.
•Station silent? Make sure its folder in RADIO\ has songs, it's enabled = YES, and folder = matches the folder name exactly.
•Set log_level = debug under [advanced] if asked, then send the log.
•Delete the mods\HorizonRadioNetwork folder, or comment out its line in mods\loadorder.txt.
•You can also set enabled = false under [advanced] in config.ini to switch it off.
