Your multiplayer companion
What is Infinity Horizon?
Infinity Horizon (Infinity Launcher) is a free, open-source project by anarqz. It runs alongside an existing Azimuth installation and provides an interface for account profiles, online Free Roam worlds, matchmaking, cloud-supported progression, and mod installation. It does not contain the game, an Azimuth executable, or the online service backend.
The launcher is a Windows x64 application with its own world-relay and in-game overlay. It also runs on Linux and Steam Deck through Wine / Proton. Infinity is independent of FH2MP and FH2Net.

What you can do
Features of Infinity Horizon
Online Free Roam
Find a matching lobby or create your own session with the launcher’s multiplayer service.
Public, friends & private lobbies
Explore compatible sessions and choose who can join. The in-game overlay makes the flow controller-friendly.
Profiles & save synchronization
Keep separate careers and sync supported online progress when the connected server enables cloud saves.
Integrated mod management
Browse the supported catalog and manage mods loaded through the integrated ExtraOptions hook.
In-game overlay
View lobbies and social information without leaving your game; availability depends on server services.
Discord integration
Optional presence details and joining compatible public or friends lobbies through invite links.
The game still runs through Azimuth. Infinity supplies its own client components and connects to an online service; whether a given online feature is available depends on compatible servers and the latest release.
Do this first
Requirements & compatibility
- A working, compatible Forza Horizon 2 Xbox One installation and your own game files.
- Azimuth installed and confirmed working on its own — see our Azimuth guide.
- Windows x64 or a Linux/Steam Deck setup with Steam, Proton and the Steam Linux Runtime.
- A separate folder for Infinity Launcher; never extract its files over Azimuth.
- An internet connection and compatible Infinity service for online multiplayer.
- Backups of existing saves before switching multiplayer hooks, profiles or launcher versions.
Set up Azimuth first. Infinity is a separate companion launcher, not a replacement for Azimuth or an alternative source of FH2 game content.
Windows x64
Install on Windows
- 1
Get the latest official ZIP
Open GitHub Releases and select the current Windows x64 archive. Keep the accompanying verification files with your installation.
- 2
Extract into its own directory
Do not merge the package with Azimuth or an old ForzaInfinity-POC install.
- 3
Start Infinity Launcher
Run infinity.exe. Starting the launcher does not automatically start FH2.
- 4
Connect your Azimuth directory
Open Configure, select the folder containing azimuth.exe and complete the launcher's checks.
- 5
Install the matching Infinity hook
Follow the launcher's own verified setup if it requests an update. Infinity 1.1+ includes an ExtraOptions-based hook.
- 6
Choose a profile and game mode
Play offline or sign in for compatible online services. Check your mod and save settings before entering a lobby.
Keep your folders separate

Portable and desktop Linux
Linux / Steam Deck setup
The developer provides a Linux/Steam Deck installer that sets up a dedicated Proton environment, picks Proton and Azimuth, and creates launcher shortcuts. Check the official README instructions for current prerequisites and the latest install command.
Official workflow
- 1. Open Steam on Linux, or Desktop Mode on Steam Deck.
- 2. Install an appropriate Proton version and its Steam Linux Runtime.
- 3. Follow the official installer's directions from the repository README.
- 4. Locate your Azimuth folder when prompted and use the resulting Infinity launcher shortcut.
- 5. Use the same installer later to update, change settings or remove the launcher.
Linux performance and compatibility depend on Proton, drivers and hardware. Read any installer script before running it; the page intentionally links to the maintained upstream instructions rather than reproducing an unattended shell command.
Play together
Online worlds, lobby types & invites
Infinity lets you join Free Roam worlds through its multiplayer service. Since version 1.2.0, the overlay combines available lobbies into one list, placing compatible options ahead of mismatched ones. Depending on the session, lobbies can be open to everyone, friends or private groups.
Find a Free Roam world
Use the online menu or Free Roam action to join a compatible nearby lobby. Where no suitable lobby exists, Infinity may offer a newly hosted session.
Create a private session
Choose a lobby privacy setting and invite the friends you want to play with. Other users must satisfy the session's profile/mod compatibility rules.
Join through Discord
Newer versions include Discord Rich Presence and compatible join links. Private lobbies are not exposed as public Discord joins.
Check loaded mods
Online sessions compare the ExtraOptions mods actually loaded, including ones installed manually. Mismatched files can prevent joining.
Infinity's official online service is described by the author as play.infinity-horizon.com. This is the service endpoint, not an alternative download website. Live status is controlled by the service and may change independently of the launcher.
Keep your career
Profiles, Noob / Hardcore & cloud saves
The official README describes up to three profiles per installation. Each profile has its own game save identity, so switching profiles is not simply changing a display name.
NOOB
One career online & offline
The same profile folder can be used offline and online. Depending on server settings, an eligible profile's progress can sync with the cloud.
HARDCORE
Separate offline and online careers
An offline Hardcore save stays local. When the server supports cloud saves, online Hardcore continues from its separate, server-managed career.
Protect your saves
Infinity archives saves moved aside by synchronization or conflicts, and recent releases offer recovery for certain Hardcore careers. Still, keep independent backups and never delete profile folders just to force cloud sync. If a save is rejected, use the launcher's recovery flow.
Cloud synchronization is conditional on the connected service; not every profile is necessarily stored in the cloud. The original Azimuth offline career is not automatically removed.
Your own Horizon
Built-in mods, ExtraOptions & compatibility
Infinity Horizon v1.1.0 integrated ExtraOptions 0.3.9 into the Infinity hook. You can manage compatible mods from the launcher's Mods screen, and manually installed mods may also appear with their own enabled/disabled state.
Official catalog
The launcher can display compatible mods and handle their installation or removal. Availability may depend on the current catalog and backend.
Manually installed mods
Supported mods found in the Azimuth mods folder can be listed and managed, but each author may have additional requirements.
Multiplayer compatibility
Sessions can require identical mod files as those loaded by ExtraOptions. Don't assume that matching mod names guarantees matching content.
Other multiplayer hooks
FH2MP, FH2Net and legacy ForzaInfinity installations are separate. Avoid overwriting DLLs or combining hooks without explicit support.

When something breaks
Troubleshooting
First check that the base FH2 installation works in Azimuth alone. Write down your Infinity version, Azimuth version, profile mode, any installed mods and the exact error before changing files.
Azimuth is not detected
Point Configure / Azimuth setup to the folder containing azimuth.exe. Infinity and Azimuth should live in separate directories.
The launcher opens but FH2 does not start
Verify that your base game works with Azimuth by itself, that it is a supported Xbox One build, and that no second networking hook is installed.
Infinity hook needs an update
Close the game and use the launcher's own Configure / verified hook installation flow. Recent releases update the integrated ExtraOptions + Infinity hook together.
A lobby is unavailable or incompatible
Make sure your profile mode, game files and loaded mods match the session. The overlay may show a compatibility reason for blocked lobbies.
Cloud progress is missing or conflicted
Stop before moving folders manually. The launcher archives older files and refuses uncertain conflicts. Check Home for recovery options and keep a backup before troubleshooting.
The launcher updater stalls
Version 1.2.2 improved download progress and interrupted-transfer recovery. If the built-in updater fails, use the current release archive or rerun the documented Linux installer.
Issues on Linux or Steam Deck
Use the official setup documentation with Steam, Proton and its runtime. If your Proton environment is damaged, consult the upstream installer instead of mixing Wine prefixes.
Mod installation causes crashes
Disable the recently installed mod in the Infinity Mods screen, verify the matching catalog/ExtraOptions version and test an otherwise clean game.

Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Does Infinity Horizon include Forza Horizon 2?
No. It is a community launcher. Supply your own compatible FH2 game files and a working Azimuth installation.
Do I need to install ExtraOptions separately?
The Infinity 1.1.x series integrated ExtraOptions into the project's hook. Use the Infinity launcher to manage its own verified hook instead of layering separate DLLs.
Is it the same as FH2MP or FH2Net?
No. Those are different multiplayer projects with different hooks and services. Do not combine them in the same installation unless a maintainer explicitly confirms compatibility.
Can I play without signing in?
You can create a local Noob profile and play offline. Online features and synchronization require a compatible service and account.
How many profiles can I have?
The official README documents up to three launcher profiles, with separate saves for each.
Do Hardcore and Noob share progress?
Noob uses one career for its online/offline profile. Hardcore has a separate local offline career and an online cloud career when supported by the server.
Are all multiplayer features free?
As of Infinity 1.2.6, the launcher no longer applies free-tier feature limits. Server-side policies and availability can still vary.
Does Infinity work on Steam Deck?
The upstream project documents a Steam/Proton installation for Linux and Steam Deck. Confirm the current requirements in the official README.
Can I get the old ForzaInfinity POC installer?
The previous proof of concept remains on GitHub for project history; for a new installation use Infinity Horizon's current release instead.
Ready to go online?
Install Azimuth first, then download the latest Infinity Launcher from its creator. FH2MP is another independent online project, with different hooks and services. Compare both before choosing.
