The first release of FH2 ANNA: ANNA, the in-car assistant from Forza Horizon 3 onwards, brought to Forza Horizon 2 on PC (Azimuth). Forza Horizon 2 kept ANNA's HUD hidden; FH2 ANNA turns it back on with Forza Horizon 3's look (the round minimap, its glowing ring and the list beside it) and fills it with things to do while you drive.

What ANNA does

Car

•Enable Auto Drive: the car drives itself along your GPS route. A few seconds in, the camera switches to slow cinematic shots and the HUD hides; touch the gas, brake or steering to take over.

•Lights: headlights (they shine in daylight too), hazard lights, and left and right indicators.

•Doors: open or close all, or one at a time: the roof, hood, trunk, each door, storage, pop-up headlights and active spoilers, whatever the car can move. They close by themselves when you drive off.

•Tune Car: opens the game's tuning screen.

Set Route To Nearest: Race, Bucket List, Festival, Barn Find or Bonus Board.

Start Matchmaking for: Online Road Trip, Online Freeroam, Private Online Road Trip or Private Online Freeroam, straight from the road, without opening the pause menu.

Controls

Tap D-pad down to open ANNA, D-pad up and down to move, right to choose and left to go back. Holding D-pad down still opens the telemetry. On the keyboard, FH2 Mouse & Keyboard gives ANNA its keys: C, I, K, L and J.

Voice commands

Talk to ANNA like Kinect on the Xbox. Say "ANNA" and the minimap ring lights up while she listens. Then say a list ("Set Route To Nearest") and an item ("Race"), or do it in one go: "ANNA, Enable Auto Drive". Natural phrasing works too, like "ANNA, set GPS to the nearest Bonus Boards", and so do "Back" and "Close". They use Windows' offline speech recognition and your default microphone, and are off by default: turn on Voice commands on the Mods page.

Your language

ANNA follows the game's text language: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish (Spain and Mexico), Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese, using the game's own names for places and modes. While FH2 ANNA is installed, the platform's Mods page also shows every mod's settings correctly in these languages.

Installing

1. Download FH2ANNA-1.0.0.zip below.

2. Extract it into your Azimuth folder, the one with azimuth.exe in it. FH2ANNA.dll goes in fh2-mods, not in Extra Options' mods folder.

3. Make sure the minimap is on in the game's HUD options, then tap D-pad down while driving.

The zip includes the FH2 Mod Platform (DWrite.dll). If you already have it from another mod, keep whichever is newer. If you use Extra Options, set AutodriveXbox=None and HazardsXbox=None under [Bindings] in FH2_ExtraOptions.ini, so its autodrive and hazards don't share ANNA's buttons.

Settings

On Pause > Settings > MODS: the autodrive cinematic camera, hiding the hood and trunk, closing doors when moving, the matchmaking list, and voice commands.

For mod developers

Other platform mods can add their own entries and lists to ANNA's menu through fh2anna.h. It's available in the repo or as the FH2ANNA NuGet package on this repo's GitHub Packages feed (https://nuget.pkg.github.com/qiangqiang101/index.json), which puts the header on your C/C++ project's include path. GitHub Packages asks for a GitHub token with read access to packages, even for public packages. Your entries can be said as voice commands too, by their label. See the README for an example.

Notes

•Voice recognition languages: Windows only has speech recognition for some languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese). For other languages, ANNA listens in English.

•Mods page after a language change: the settings switch language from the next launch after you change the game's language.
