How to Upgrade from the 25-Car Pack to the 69-Car Pack (FH2 / Azimuth)

Safe step-by-step migration from the old FH2 25-Car Pack or Remix to the 69-Car Pack: backups, Extra Options, correct folders, missing cars and database conflicts.

How to Install the 69-Car Pack After the 25-Car Pack (FH2 / Azimuth)

Already installed the older 25-Car Addon Pack or a 25-Car Remix and want the 69-Car Addon Pack? Do not simply copy the new files over the old ones. Different car packs can replace shared FH2 databases and manifests, so the safest method is to back up your setup, remove the previous pack's changes using its original instructions, and install the new release as a separate package.

This is a safe migration guide, not a claim that the 69-car pack is an automatic/in-place update. The exact folders and file names depend on the archive you downloaded. The Readme.txt shipped with the 69-car archive takes priority over generic instructions.

1. Check the requirements

•Forza Horizon 2 (Xbox One build 1.0.0.64) already running through Azimuth.

•Azimuth 1.0.2 or newer, as stated in the 69-car pack listing. The current Azimuth release may be newer; use matching plugins.

•FH2 Extra Options built for your installed Azimuth version. Never mix DLLs from different Azimuth generations.

•Enough free disk space for an independent backup of the old mod files and your save.

Useful guides: Install Azimuth and Install Extra Options.

2. Download the correct 69-car release

1. Visit the FH2 69-Car Addon Pack page and follow its author-provided download link.

2. Download the latest 69-car archive, not the old 25-car package.

3. Extract the whole archive into a temporary folder and open its Readme.txt before moving any files.

4. Examine whether the package includes a Mount folder, a mods folder, an installer, or another layout. Do not guess the installation path.

The 69-car release adds a dedicated Autoshow in Nice Masséna, custom music/background and 69 vehicles. It is not merely a new car ZIP.

3. Back up the existing 25-car setup

Close both FH2 and Azimuth first.

1. Back up your Azimuth saves, typically under <Azimuth folder>/data/titles/1A96545B/saves (check your actual installation).

2. Back up any existing modded folders in the FH2 game root: Mount/mediapc and Mount/mediaoverride if present.

3. Back up <Azimuth folder>/mods, FH2_ExtraOptions.ini, and any other mod configuration you changed.

4. Keep a copy of the old pack's archive, README and installer/uninstaller, if you have them.

Important: If your saved garage contains cars from the old pack, those cars might not work correctly if the new database has different vehicle IDs. Keep a recoverable copy of your save and old pack. Do not overwrite the only save copy while testing.

4. Remove or isolate the older pack

If the 25-car pack has an official uninstaller or restoration procedure, follow it. Otherwise use the original pre-mod backups to restore only the files the old pack changed.

•Do not delete the entire Mount folder or your saves.

•Do not delete all of mediapc, mediaoverride, or mods when unrelated mods also use those directories.

•Do not overwrite a shared gamedbRC.slt or zipmanifest.xml and assume both packs will be merged.

If you cannot identify which files belong to the old pack, the safest option is a separate clean FH2 installation/copy, leaving your existing setup untouched. Configure Azimuth to use the intended game folder.

5. Install the 69-car archive in its actual format

Follow the new archive's Readme.txt exactly. The following are layout examples, not a substitute for that file:

•Archive contains `Mount/...` and instructs you to install in the FH2 game folder: use the FH2 root containing Mount, era.vbi and EmbeddedXvd. Preserve the archive's relative paths; avoid accidentally creating Mount/Mount.

•Archive contains `mods/...` and explicitly supports the Extra Options addon loader: merge the mods folder into the Azimuth folder beside `azimuth.exe`, preserving each addon directory. Do not copy it into FH2's Mount folder.

•Archive provides an installer: use the author's documented procedure and verify which folders it modifies.

Never rename or relocate a legacy mediapc package into mods as a shortcut: those are different formats. See the car addon installation and compatibility guide.

6. Test the new pack

1. Launch the game with the compatible Azimuth + Extra Options combination.

2. Visit the dedicated Nice Masséna Autoshow included with the pack.

3. Confirm the new cars appear and one can be selected without a crash.

4. Check your existing garage and save cautiously. Keep your backup until you have fully tested the setup.

5. Reintroduce other car mods one at a time only after the 69-car pack works alone.

Troubleshooting

Only the old 25 cars appear / the 69 cars are missing

The old pack's gamedbRC.slt, zipmanifest.xml, or another overridden file may still take priority. Verify the package's README, the active game folder, and both Mount/mediapc and Mount/mediaoverride. The latter can take priority in legacy setups. Do not blindly delete files.

Game crashes after copying the new files

Restore the backed-up old installation, then try the new pack in a clean test copy with only the dependencies required by its author. Check the Extra Options log and the exact Azimuth version. Do not mix old and new framework DLLs.

Cars missing from my garage

A different car database may not contain the same vehicle IDs. Restore the matching old pack together with the backed-up save. Do not assume the 69-car release preserves garage references from an unrelated Remix.

69-car pack works but another addon disappears

Both mods may supply full replacements for the same game database or manifest. Ask the mod authors for a verified merged/compatible build; normal file-copy merging is not enough.

Can I keep 25-Car Remix and 69-Car Pack installed together?

Not confirmed. Do not stack them unless the authors provide an explicitly compatible merged installation. Keep separate backed-up setups instead.
