Open idea · 0 votes · 10/25/2026

Suggested by Community member. This is a suggestion, not a delivery promise.

The idea

Take the force feedback (FFB) and handling characteristics from Forza Horizon 6 and integrate them into Forza Horizon 2, while also implementing full steering wheel support and compatibility. This would modernize the driving experience, improve vehicle control and realism, and allow players to enjoy the game with contemporary racing wheel hardware.

Technical Requirements

Force Feedback System

Implement the latest FFB model used in newer Forza titles.

Support dynamic road surface feedback, including asphalt, dirt, grass, gravel, and rumble strips.

Provide adjustable FFB parameters:

Overall strength

Road feel

Centering spring

Vibration scale

Wheel damper

Steering sensitivity

Vehicle Handling

Update tire physics and grip calculations to match modern Forza standards.

Improve suspension behavior, weight transfer, and body roll simulation.

Refine steering response for greater precision and consistency.

Enhance vehicle stability across all drivetrain types (FWD, RWD, and AWD).

Maintain the original Horizon 2 driving feel while benefiting from newer handling improvements.

Wheel Support

Add native support for modern racing wheels, including:

Logitech G29/G920/G923

Thrustmaster T128, T248, T300, TX, and TS-XW

Fanatec CSL DD, GT DD Pro, and ClubSport series

Moza Racing wheel bases

Support wheel rotation ranges from 180° to 1080° or higher where supported.

Enable automatic wheel-profile detection and configuration.

Controls and Calibration

Add a dedicated wheel settings menu.

Allow custom button mapping for all supported devices.

Include dead-zone, linearity, sensitivity, and saturation adjustments.

Support separate pedal calibration for throttle, brake, and clutch inputs.

Enable H-pattern shifters, sequential shifters, and handbrake peripherals.

Compatibility and Performance

Maintain compatibility with the original game content, vehicles, and progression system.

Ensure stable FFB performance at the game's target frame rate.

Optimize wheel input latency for responsive steering feedback.

Preserve multiplayer synchronization and physics consistency across all supported control methods.

Expected Benefits

More realistic and immersive driving experience.

Improved wheel usability and accessibility.

Better vehicle control and precision.

Increased longevity and replay value for Forza Horizon 2.

A driving feel that closely matches modern Forza Horizon titles while preserving the original game's atmosphere and identity.
